Get Core Influence (and maybe change your life)

You might recall in my last post when I went on and on about the meaning of my life and my goals etc I mentioned Frank Kern and his Core Influence videos. I even linked to a couple of videos.

By coincedence, he is launching a new product called “list control” and as part of that, he is giving something away for free…..Core Influence.

It’s a two hour life changing presentation, that I thoroughly enjoyed and I think you might too.

If you hit this link—–> Core Influence I will have “referred” you. This doesn’t mean I get any money, but if I refer 10 people (and if you do to) then you get access to another very new video and sequel to Core Influence. I’d appreciate it if you do decide to check out the video, if you used my link. If not, it’s no biggie. As long as you see the video, I think it will really have an incredible effect on you. Just a theory.

Go check it out and feel free to come back here and comment on it some time down the line.

Peace.

New York City and the Meaning of Life

*Authors Note* I read this back a few times after I originally published this, and thought it didn’t sound too much like me. I also thought the post it was a little bit weird and maybe preachy (it’s not meant to be). However, a good friend of mine; Robin Tabari posted on his blog that he tried some of the stuff I suggest here and it changed his mood and perspective after being very down. Since it had that effect on  one person, I thought I’d just say “hell with it” and leave this up anyway.

When I was 15 years of age my Dad took me out to Washington DC to visit a friend of his. Together we toured the city, taking in all the sights and sounds and visiting some of the most famous political buildings not only in the US, but the World. It was during and after that trip that I decided not only was I passionate about business, but I was also ridiculously passionate about politics and law. This later led me to include this subjects in my learnings at school and University (I did a law degree). This trip was a significant event in my life, and you could say it literally had a “life-changing-effect” on me. Just over a week ago, as I boarded a plane to New York, I had no idea what an impact the Big Apple was going to have on me, but in retrospect I think this recent trip to New York has had a bigger impact on me than anything else I have ever done and I want to share that with you here.

Before I go any further, I am going to warn you this post is going to be slightly on the “self-centered” side, but there is something in it for you too. I am making this post for two reasons. The first is that I really wanted to express, share and talk about my New York experience. Now I can talk till the cows come home about this trip with friends and family, but I am going to say some things here that I don’t think I could say face-to-face to people I know in my “everyday life”. The second reason I am writing this post is because I genuinely believe it *might* help some one out there. This blog is not known for it’s massive traffic, but perhaps 15 years from now, one soul out there might stumble on this post and maybe, if I do my job right here, it might just hep them.

So here’s what’s in it for you…

In this post I am going to share with you how to find the meaning of YOUR life (how to discover the purpose of your life) I am going to share with you 3 books you need to read to help improve your chances of being successful at ANYTHING in life and hopefully this post will inspire you to chase your dreams as well. There will be a couple of other nuggets in this post, but for now, I’ll keep those hidden for you to find yourself!

The Last Lecture: A Lesson in Life

About a year ago I watched this video after having it recommended to me by some one on a forum. I recently was moved to look it up and watch it again.

I don’t usually post on a Sunday, but if there is some one out there with nothing to do after their Sunday dinner, then this is a video that is well worth a watch! It’s changed some people’s lives, it’s helped people adjust their thinking. It touches and moves some people, and it does nothing for others. Still, a great video and one I would make nearly every school child/student watch, there are some great life lessons to be learnt.

Check it out for yourself:

Jamie Archer’s X Factor Audition and Why It’s Important

I watched X Factor this weekend with the missus and saw a clip from past week’s show. The audtionee was described as a “natural born entertainer” (understatement) and he was singing one of my all time favorite songs; Kings of Leon Sex On Fire. I had to look this guy up on Youtube. His name is Jamie Archer (Jamie Afro) to his friends and he almost made A Factor watchable. It was one of the greatest things I have seen on television this year! Check it out on the video I have posted below.

You see I hate Xfactor. It’s about over-dramatising people’s stories and backgrounds and laughing at people who are not the sharpest knives in the draw. I generally speaking don’t like this show, but if every performance was as good as Jamie’s I’d be an obsessed viewer and a fan. Ckech out the video below, and then I’ll chat abhout why this is relevant to this website , me and you.

Good wasn’t it?

Literally the hairs stood up on the back of my neck when I watched this guy strutt out and do this. I wish I had been in the room when it happened, it must have been electric.

Anyway. Time to cut to the chase and get to the point of this post. I envy this guy, because although he is 33 (not old by any means in my book) he has spent his life chasing a dream and working hard just to make ends meet so he could keep chasing his dream of being a musician. He worked hard in bars and supermarkets, and then played music at night at some grotty venues where his talent wasn’t appreciated. Life knocked him back, but he kept stepping back up to the plate.

What is more, he didn’t come out full of himself. He was quite humble, but confidently spoken. He presented himself well. If you watch the video again I think you can tell that Simon Cowell is both a massive fan of the song, but it looks like he initially doubts that Jamie can pull it off. Jamie absolutely kills it though. He hits every note and not only that, he excites the entire audience in that room and delivers the best performance of the competition thus far. He had stage presence, energy, enthusiasm and a great voice. He is a genuine talent and he has got the X factor, whether he wins the competition or not.

As a reult of this by the way, I will definately be championing his cause some what on this blog and may even be moved to vote on the show for the first time ever.

Jamie comes across as a guy who has a nice group of friends, an incredible talent and a great work ethic. He really lights that entire stadium up with his perosnality and performance. He is a guy who never subscribed to the rat race way of life and has taken huge risks and made sacrifices to get even just a little closer to where he wants to be. I have massive respect for this guy. I wish I had the courage to do what he has done and to take those giant leaps.

He chose a dream and went for it. And even though he has never made it quite where he wants to be, he has kept trying, working hard and pushing forward and it is starting to pay off for him.

Like I say, I have taken some huge lessons from this guy, and I hope you have too. If not, then I hope at the very least you just enjoyed the music.

Why Getting Punched in the Balls Made Me Re-Think My Business

This was a blog post I made on the Warrior Forum a little while back. I got no comments or feedback on it, and very few views, so I just thought I’d use the content here, by posting it on MY blog instead:

I hadn’t seen it coming. His midget hand landed perfectly, square between my legs, catching one of my crown jewels with his miniscule fist.

I jerked my legs closed, winced in pain and took a moment to catch my breath as my girl friend’s five year old brother laughed with glee and delight at my apparent pain and discomfort.

What crime was I being punished for?

I hadn’t been paying him any attention. I’d been talking to my girl friend and her mother whilst getting myself a drink. I had acknowledged her brother (who is half my size) but I had ignored his pleas to join him in a game of “bricks and dinosaurs”.

I got distracted and lost my focus. I ignored the barrage of punch combinations the little monkey had managed to land on my legs and lower stomach. I hadn’t identified any of it as a threat and thus my defenses were nonexistent when it came to the young rapscallion’s version of “the nutcracker”.

And this is exactly what I have been doing in business, and it is exactly the same thing that some of my friends and business partners have been doing as well. We’ve been looking the other way, focussing on other things, spreading ourselves too thin, not looking down and exposing ourselves to a smack in the balls! And believe me, that IS painful.

I have invested my time, energy, money and concentration into too many ventures opportunities and ideas and I have neglected some of the things I was once good at, or at the very least enjoyed!

I have been looking the other way, and in doing so I have over-spent, over-stretched and not focussed on the things I enjoy the most and that have seen me make good returns.

So I have decided to distance myself and cut off from some of the projects I have been working on, and work on a core of three projects at the most of anyone time. This is still a little much, but is partly down to obligations I have to fulfill on current projects and once that is out of the way, I will re-evaluate my position.

So here is the beginning of that transition. I am starting blogging again, and for the first time ever, shall be doing so in the Internet marketing/business field. I am going to document my business and lifestyle choices and I shall be updating the readers on my five year plan towards my dream offline business and financial freedom.

At this point, I am not sure who would or will be interested in this. If nothing else though, it might serve as an interesting read for me in the future, or my children and grandchildren.

Anyway, if you want to get avoid getting kicked in the balls metaphorically and literally, then my blog may well be the blog for you!

Wise Words

“There comes a time when it’s important to stop doing the things you like and start doing the things you want!”

The distinction between doing things you like and the things you want is a profound and important one for me. There is a difference, and this quote is about getting out of your comfort zone, facing hard truths, taking big action, risking what you have and taking a leap of faith. I will never forget these words, and I will never forget the conversation they were uttered in.

Not only is the guy who said the above a true friend, I think he may just  be a genius in ways that he may not fully understand. His courageous, positive, fun, determined, ambitious view on life always inspires me and spurs me on in everything I do. He is a true friend, and some one I trust with some of my most private thoughts.

If you hadn’t guessed it, these are the words of Robin Tabari. I hope he knows I am grateful we are friends and I look forward to the exciting adventures we have planned for the future.

If you want to learn more about him and listen to some of his brilliant music, then please go check out his website: RobinTabari.Com

Summary of My Ideology

rrl-smallThe following is a copy and paste of one of my replies on a thread about Internet marketing guru’s poor customer service and after purchase care. It really sums up what I want for this blog, website and for you. I hope it gives you a better idea of what the “The Lab” is all about.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply.

Like you, I should have seperated the PR from the customer service. In fact, whether PR or not, I should have seperated their involvement with charity from their customer service and business practices. I really used the charity exaple as a way to illustrate their good qualities. Perhaps I have been duped by good PR, and confused the issue.

What I was trying to say though, was my experience of Frank Kern’s team and Mike Filsaime has led me to believe they do pay attention to customer service and do make good on promises to their customers. I could have put that better though.

I realize you were being general, and not specific about marketers in this industry, but I just wanted to confirm it.

I agree with a lot of what you say. It seems very easy for successful marketers to attract hungry newcomers to their email lists and massive product launchs and promotions, and in a way, they do play on some of the weaknesses of their prospects and customers. That is what I find most difficult about that market.

I have seen many warriors and marketers suggest that if you know just a bit about internet marketing, you are in a position to teach others about it, and so you should as it is lucrative. I have struggled with this, and never entered the “space” for a couple of years. When I comment on something, I want to know what I say is legitimate and helpful and I don’t really think I could allow myself to outright lie about my earnings, abilities or knowledge.

I do know of some people who have been creative with the truth and have made a lot of money by doing so. The idea is attractive, a few innaccuracies here and there, followed by a bucket load of cash flowing into my paypal and bob’s your uncle. But it doesn’t sit comfortably with me. Yes it would be relatively easy (easier than some of the things I have done in the past) but I don’t know if I am ready to trade my morals for cash.

I have started a blog on online marketing and my businesses, but I don’t have a product to sell, and don’t feel I am in a position to make guarantees on what people could earn following my advice. I wouldn’t feel right about lying about what I do in order to get a good financial return. But I do enjoy using my blog and articles to submit my thoughts to the marketplace of ideas an get feedback on them.

At one time, I may have been tempted to promote certain make money products, in much the same way you describe in your post. Knowing something doesn’t sit right with the product, but promoting it in a half-assed way to recieve a little commission and at the same time, distance myself from the bad vibes. That would be a huge mistake for me personally and in business.

Thanks again for your posts in this thread, it has all genuinely given me food for thought.
