3 Ways to Make Money Online – An Entrepreneur’s Guide
Aug 11th
Hi team.
Hope everyone has had a good week up till now. Typically for me, Tuesday’s are officially the worst days, so I thought I would brighten my blog up with a post about three business models that nearly any individual can get involved with relatively quickly and make money from. All of these business models could be run as a hobby (i.e. after or around a full time job) or all of these businesses could be taken on as a full time occupation and scaled up to a very nicely profitable business.
The Online Marketing Industry
Aug 10th
Online and Internet marketing is not just online entrepreneurs selling information products to hungry markets or setting up small localized long-tail keyword based PPC campaigns for small local/offline business. Internet marketing is a very niche and growing industry. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry with some big corporate players and that means there are plenty of career opportunities out there, and crazily there is almost a total lack of qualifications required to get these jobs.
You see, it always interests me why so many people who struggle with running their own business, but ar every good at SEO, or have an excellent understanding of “IM” don’t get into this industry as a career. Some of the jobs are paying 40-50k in English money, and that’s a good salary to be on. If you’ve ever handled an email list, or done some social media projects, you could be qualified to take on some of these important jobs with some big companies.
New Look and Asos, are just two of many big brands in the UK looking to expand their brand and reputation via the Internet. They are not the only ones. Big business understands how cost effective Internet marketing can be. The results are VERY trackable, the statistics are updated frequently and these kinds of metrics allow for marketing execs to set very efficient and effective advertising budgets. This in turn saves the company money whilst delivering results.
The problem this particular industry is facing is there is not a clear path to this kind of career. Little formal education and too few people know that it even exists as an opportunity! This industry is so niche, and yet so lucrative! And there is a skills shortage!
Don’t expect to leap into the big bux. In all honesty and likely hood, you will find yourself thrust into the job at an entry level. But display a good working knowledge of the concepts and principles, and take some evidence of a track record, and you are on to a winner and the opportunity of fast track promotion.
There are so many people hanging out on forums who have such a great passion for this industry, but don’t have the business acumen to turn it into a workable business model for themselves. A legitimate proper job in this industry would give these talented people a direction in which to move in, not to mention some great work experience for their own enterprises in the future.
This is something so few people talk about and admit to, and I felt it was worth commenting on. If you do too, leave the comment below!
